CRIBRIFORM: It is an anatomical structure with many perforations like that of a sieve! :Cribriform plate of ethmoid bone
CRIBRIFORM PATTERN:
It is an histomorphological pattern wherein the sheets of epithelial cells are punctuated by empty/gland like spaces.In other words there are gaps in between the tumor cells
This pattern is seen in the following lesions/tumors
- Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma
- Cribriform-Morular Variant of Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma
- Cribriform adenocarcinoma of minor salivary gland
- Cutaneous Cribriform Carcinoma
- Cribriform high-grade PIN/Invasive Ca
- Cribriform neuroepithelial tumor (CRINET)
- Cribriform DCIS
