Serous cystadenoma- ovary

Gross : unilocular cyst of varying size. The external surface will be smooth and glistening. It contains clear serous fluid. The internal surface will also be smooth. Papillary excrescences can be seen at times

Microscopy: the cyst wall will be lined by single layer of ciliated tall columnar epithelium. ( note that the lining epithelium is similar to that of Fallopian tube lining epithelium).
